Halesowen Town v Sutton Coldfield Town - 1st Qualifying Round

Saturday 13th September

Winner gets £3,000

Played 9 holes in Devon at 10 in the morning (Day 3 of Captains Trip). Left 12 O Clock, arrived Halesowen at 315. Strange amount to get in. £5.50. Think it must have been half of £11. Pensioner. Met Steve and Ian on the terraces and Steve had got me a program. Yet again the program was really good and was called ‘the Yeltz’. Will have to look where that name came from. Cup of tea and a burger was the order of the day.  It’s a good job the tea and burger were ok because the football was awful. Who could kick it the furthest and the highest and run after it was the order of the day. In the corner near the bar and c o t shop, a few of the home supporters, a little worse for the odd lemonade, were constantly telling the referee and lineman what they could do with their whistle and flag.  More entertaining than the football.

The second half saw Halesowen prove too strong for Sutton and ran out 3 – 0 winners.

Would have put the gate at 200+ and never saw a raffle.  Ah well see what the draw brings on Monday.
